For cases of advanced spine surgery, Glendale clinics offer a range of both technological devices and experienced surgeons. For older patients, services are offered to help deal with sciatica, degenerative disc diseases and the like. You can consider rhinoplasty if you are unhappy with the size or contour of your nose, or have difficulty breathing. The average cost of rhinoplasty usually ranges between $4000 and $8000, sometimes more.
The cost of rhinoplasty includes three components - doctor’s fees, anesthesia and facility fee. A rhinoplasty procedure usually lasts about an hour or two. The surgeon’s fee is usually the costliest and depends on the surgeon’s medical training, skills and experience. The anesthesia fee is priced between $600 and $1,000, and the facility fee between $700 and $1,100. The doctor’s fee usually starts from $4000 and up.
Although the surgeon’s fee is the costliest component in a rhinoplasty quote, you should not choose a surgeon based solely on the cost. As the popular saying goes, you get what you pay for. Selecting the cheapest surgeon without verifying if he or she is qualified may increase your risks of a botched first rhinoplasty. When this happens, you are likely to require revision rhinoplasty as a remedy, which may bring your final rhinoplasty bill close to $25,000 or even $30,000. Just think of the physical and emotional agony that you have to endure.
When choosing a rhinoplasty surgeon, check if he or she is board-certified by the following organizations:
* American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ABFPRS)
* The American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS)
* American College of Surgeons (FACS)
* The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS)
After checking on your surgeon’s professional qualifications, find out which procedures your surgeon has performed previously. Study the doctor’s patients’ before and after photos and patient’s testimonials. Get your surgeon to explain to you the potential risks and complications that you may encounter. After your surgeon has done a digital imaging of the results that you can expect from the procedure, be sure to understand the surgical plan that he or she has for you. Observe if the surgeon is willing to take time to answer your questions.
The extent of rhinoplasty work has a significant influence on the cost. A small surgical adjustment or reduction to the tip of the nose needs less time as compared to narrowing the bridge or altering the shape of the nose completely. Whether the surgeon deploys the open or closed technique will also have have a bearing on surgery time and rhinoplasty cost.
Your health insurance will pay your rhinoplasty bill in full or in part, if you are able to demonstrate that the rhinoplasty procedure is vital to treating an existing breathing problem caused by a deviated septum or injury to the nose. Your doctor will be able to advise you on whether you are eligible for an insurance claim, and how to go about filing a claim.
Your insurance policy will not pay for your rhinoplasty if you are doing it purely for cosmetic reasons. You will have to save up for the surgery, or take up financing Ask your surgeon’s office if it has a working arrangement with financial institutions to offer you financing to pay for your rhinoplasty costs.
Get a full breakdown of costs and make sure that your surgeon offers post-surgery touch-ups at no extra cost. Eliminating all possibility of hidden costs will enable you to enjoy a smooth rhinoplasty recovery, free from any unforseen financial burden.

Choosing a cosmetic surgeon requires you to perform extensive research. You have to know the right questions to ask in order to avoid choosing a surgeon who may not have your best interests in mind.
To help with that I’ve come up with 3 vital questions to help you choose the right plastic surgeon for you.
1. Are you board certified in facial cosmetic surgery?
Consulting with a cosmetic surgeon requires some research on your behalf. For example, not all surgeons are board certified in specialty areas like facial plastic surgery. If you want the best results from your surgery,I would recommend only going to surgeons board certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery or the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
Although choosing a board certified surgeon will not guarantee a competent surgeon skilled in your surgery of interest, it will insure that the surgeon meets a minimum requirement.
2. Are you a specialist in any procedures or are you a generalist?
The gamut of cosmetic surgery is pretty large. So a surgeon may have a practice that is largely focused on bodywork, (liposuction, breast augmentation, or tummy tucks) while only performing a few facial cosmetic surgeries a year.
If you are looking at a facial cosmetic procedure, it makes sense to seek a surgeon that focuses only on facial cosmetic surgery.
3. How many of these surgeries do you do a year?
Even though all cosmetic procedures are viewed individually, this question will give you an impression of your surgeons area of expertise. The motto of practice makes perfect applies especially to the world of cosmetic surgery. Be sure to talk to a wide range of doctors so you can compare the amount of surgeries performed and see which one will be able to handle your situation with the most competence.
Using these three questions should help you avoid some of the most common mistakes made when choosing a facial cosmetic surgeon.
To learn more about working with a specialist as well as other facial plastic surgery procedures, I invite you to visit my website and book a consultation with me today.

Breast augmentation is one of the most popular surgical procedures on the planet. Worldwide, women want bigger, more beautiful breasts. Older women battle age and gravity, chasing after the perky, firmer breasts of their youth. Younger women seek sex appeal, and often the perfection and symmetry nature didn’t award them. If you are considering breast augmentation surgery, you have three different types of implants to choose from.
Saline implants are the most used in breast implant history. The FDA banned silicone gel implants in 1992 after women suffered serious health problems, leaving only saline implants.
Saline implants have been considered the safest because they are filled with a saltwater solution. If an implant should leak or rupture, the saline will be absorbed by the body and passed out through the urine. This implant allows the surgeon to make a smaller incision (less scarring) because the saline is added after the implant is already in the body. However, a saline implant has the reputation of not feeling or moving like a real breast.
A silicone gel implant better mimics the movement of a real breast because it is filled with the soft gel. The FDA banned them for 14 years, during which clinical trials studied and analyzed them for health risks resulting from silicone leakages. In 2006, the FDA finally approved them for unrestricted use. But are they really safe?
There is still one major disadvantage of the silicone gel implants: it is extremely difficult to detect a rupture or leak. Even your surgeon can’t be positive without utilizing an MRI. That is why the FDA recommends women with implants have an MRI every two years. MRIs are expensive and not covered by health insurance, so they should be factored into the total cost of the breast implants.
A major advantage of silicone gel implants is that the FDA has studied and analyzed them more than any other medical device in American history. Nowadays, some consider them even safer than saline implants.
You may not even have heard about the cohesive gel implant – also called the gummy bear implant. This implant is a solid gel mass with an overall gummy texture. There is no liquid inside it. It won’t leak even if it’s cut in half! You will simply have an implant cut into two pieces. A major drawback to this implant is that because it is a solid mass, the surgeon has to make a larger incision (meaning a larger scar) to insert the bigger implant into the breast.
The biggest disadvantage of the cohesive gel implant is that the FDA has not approved them for use in America. The rest of the world has used them for almost 20 years, but the FDA feels they need more study. If you are seriously interested in having the cohesive gel implants, you will need to locate a plastic surgeon the FDA has approved for its clinical trials.
If you are interested in learning more about breast augmentation surgery and the pros and cons of the different implants, consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon. He will know the latest technological advances, and is the best qualified to provide you with realistic expectations.

Brachioplasty is, in layman’s terms, an arm lift or arm tuck. With age, excessive tanning or extreme weight loss, arm skin loses its elasticity, and therefore, its ability to shrink back to normal size, resulting in empty, loose, unattractive skin hanging from the upper arms.
Loose skin on the upper arms is unnecessary, though natural after weight loss and is also a natural part of aging. While the benefits of beating obesity are undeniable, there are consequences. Skin loses its elasticity, never to be regained again. Sagging skin results in difficulty finding properly fitting clothing, not to mention embarrassment and self consciousness when wearing sleeveless tops or swimwear. Skin rashes and irritation can also lead to repeated, painful infections on the arms, especially in hot weather. The only way to get rid of the excess skin is through a cosmetic surgery called brachioplasty.
The average candidate for surgery has undergone stomach stapling and may or may not get an arm lift as part of a post bariatric lift procedure. Some patients elect to have only an arm lift done. If you have lost extreme amounts of weight and want to beat the last of your self consciousness left over from obesity, an arm lift may be right for you.
There are risks associated with this type of surgery. As with any surgery, there is a risk of having a reaction to anesthesia. Those who have Hidradenitis Supperativa, also know as chronic infections of the sweat glands in the armpits, should wait until their infection is cured before going though with the procedure. Women whom have had a radical mastectomy are sometimes advised not to have this surgery done, as it can lead to chronic, painful swelling in the arms.
The most important consideration of a brachioplasty is who will do your surgery. Make sure to find a specialist in the field of cosmetic surgery. As is well known, most of the best surgeons in the United States are on the west coast. Begin researching cosmetic surgeons Los Angeles to find the best surgeon to fit your needs. Last year in the United States, approximately 60,000 women choose to have a Breast Lift (or Mastopexy), a surgery that raises and reshapes breasts that have sagged from pregnancy, significant weight change, or the natural process of aging. A number of these women, wanting more breast volume, had augmentation with saline or silicone gel implants at the same time.
Augmentation Mastopexy is a complex surgery that challenges even the most skilled and experienced plastic surgeon, who must deal with the opposing forces required to make breasts fuller (by stretching the skin with implants) yet firmer (by tightening the skin with a breast lift).
For many years, like my colleagues, I would draw a complex pattern on the breast, remove some of the excess skin, and then tailor tack these tissues together. I would do the same on the other breast, and then trim excess skin multiple times to provide maximum tightening and make sure that the breasts were still symmetrical.
About six years ago, when I was performing an Augmentation Mastopexy, the proverbial light bulb went off: If I first tightened and tailored the breasts with surgical skin staples, perhaps I could identify the total amount of excess skin to be removed and previsualize the final breast shape and symmetry before I made an incision.
I was thrilled with the ease and results of this new approach, and I’ve been using my Staple-First Technique ever since for women with moderately to severely ptotic (droopy) breasts. No matter what women want size-wise, or how droopy or uneven they are, I can produce consistent and predictable results more simply with my procedure than I’ve done in the past. To see before and after photos of women who have had this procedure, go to http://www.lookingnatural.com/breastliftauggallery.html.
I documented my experience in the Sept. 2009 issue of the American Journal of Cosmetic Surgery, in an article entitled “Augmentation Mastopexy for Moderately to Severely Ptotic Breasts: Previsualizing Breast Shape and Symmetry With the Innovative and Versatile Staple-First Technique.”
For me, the technique has taken the guesswork out how much excess skin needs to be removed. I can get the maximum lift and create the best symmetry and shape in one simple step with the least amount of scarring. In addition, I can adjust for any asymmetry of the breasts, which is common among women.
And because I no longer need to do multiple skin trimmings, the operative time is shorter, patients receive less anesthesia, and their recuperation is easier.
With the adage of measure twice, cut once, it is very comforting to preview the end result of an Augmentation Mastopexy before making an incision.
Dr. Ted Eisenberg is a Philadelphia plastic surgeon specializing in cosmetic breast surgery: augmentation, lift, augmentation mastopexy, reduction, and correction of asymmetry. He has helped more than 4,000 women transform their image through breast enhancement. In January 2010, he will introduce the Staple-First Technique to fellow cosmetic surgeons at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery; he will also be teaching other surgeons the technique at live surgery workshops at Nazareth Hospital in Philadelphia. An abstract of the article can be found on his cosmetic breast surgery website at http://www.lookingnatural.com/. For more information, call 1-888-SHAPE-12.
